01

Form your business

Choose a business structure that fits your situation. If you’re forming a limited liability company (LLC), we can prepare the registration, obtain the employer identification number (EIN), and explain the ways your business can be taxed.

02

Open a dedicated business bank account

Once you have an EIN, open a dedicated business bank account. Keeping business and personal finances separate makes it easier to track income and expenses.

03

Set up QuickBooks Online

Get QuickBooks Online ready to track income and expenses, check your books against your statements, and show you how the business is doing.

04

Keep your books up to date

Keep income and expenses organized, check your books against your statements, and save receipts throughout the year. You can handle the day-to-day work or let Midwest take care of the books.

05

File your tax return

The way your business is taxed determines which returns you need to file. We’ll explain which tax returns you need and what it will cost to prepare them.

Put the pieces together

What could your
starting point look like?

For example, LLC formation ($300) plus QuickBooks Online setup only ($300) totals $600 in one-time setup fees.*

* The QuickBooks Online subscription, tax preparation, training, and ongoing services are not included. Monthly bookkeeping starts at $350 and is quoted based on your activity and support needs. We’ll confirm your services and price before work begins.

Do I need every service on this page?

No. You may have already registered your business or plan to keep your own books. Choose the help that fits where you are now.

Do I have to form an LLC to start a business?

An LLC is one way to organize a business. We can explain the accounting and tax differences for your situation.

Can I find out the prices without a meeting?

The price ranges above are intended to help you decide if our services fit your needs. When you’re ready, book a Business Appointment to discuss the services you want and the next steps.

What should I be ready to discuss?

Tell us what type of business you’re starting, the state, the number of owners, whether you’ve registered the business or received an EIN, and which services you’re interested in.

Your next chapter starts with a solid foundation.
